Excursion and Visits

registration is on a first come - first served basis !

The coach leaves at HeadquARTers, Van Aerdtstraat 33, at 09.15, and takes us to the center of the historical town of Mechelen. There we will visit the
Manufacture DE WIT,
specialized in weaving, cleaning and conservation of tapestries. Owing to this firm's reputation, the most precious tapestries from the most important museums worldwide have been, and still are, treated here. A guided tour, especially sponsored for DHA31 by Manufacture DE WIT, will show us their exhibition of tapestries from varied periods, and the different stages in the conservation process, including their proprietary cleaning treatment.

Lunch will be taken at De Groote Witte Arend, Reyndersstraat 18, 2000 Antwerpen.

Back in Antwerp, after a lunch, we will have a guided visit to the
Antwerp Fashion Museum
(Mode Museum, MOMU) with a special exhibition devoted to dye literature.

The organized excursion ends there, in downtown Antwerp. Delegates are then free to stroll through the old center; the hotels indicated are all within walking distance.
